✹ About me.

Nice to meet you!

I am Marina, an arts manager and career coach for artists and creative professionals who want to shape a fulfilling and sustainable working life.

As with many paths, mine was never a straight one…

Since 2012, I’ve worked as an independent curator and arts manager for a number of different art institutions, galleries and creative studios in Germany. In 2016, after launching impressa, an online magazine + gallery for emerging female photographers, I became involved in featuring the work and supporting the creative practice of dozens of talented artists from all around the world.

Through this decade-long journey, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside hundreds of artists and creatives across various industries. What I have found is that even the most talented and passionate people out there still struggle to find fulfillment in their careers. As an arts professional myself, I could totally relate: balancing personal needs, creative aspirations, and the practical side of things can sometimes feel like an impossible task.

Following my empathy and natural curiosity to better understand my peers' thoughts and feelings (as well as my own), I went on to explore new roads and new ways of working. Changing careers in my mid-30s was a big step –risky and exciting all at the same time. But once I was able to get clear on my strengths, my needs, my values and my goals, shifting from running artistic projects to building human connections felt like a natural next step.

I trained as a coach because I am keen on supporting people who don’t fit easily into conventional molds to shape their unique paths and find fulfillment in what they do. People who, like me, want to earn a living using their creative talents, who want freedom and autonomy at work and in life, who want to express their ideas and visions through their chosen profession, and have some fun along the way. Is that too much to ask? No, it’s not.

My personal experience is that traditional career advice and strategies don't always translate well into the arts and creative industry. As a result, I've designed my coaching practice to be the support I wish I had when trying to figure out what's next for me. Through my work, I integrate my experience as a creative professional and solopreneur, my personal learnings from career change and transitions, tools and techniques from transformative coaching, design thinking and positive psychology, along with over a decade of supporting bright creatives to bring ideas into fruition.

I hope our conversations will help you create more, struggle less and flourish by doing the creative work that is yours to do.

Originally from Brazil, I lived in four different countries until I found my home in Berlin. I hold a BA in History (UNAM, MX), a MA in Arts and Culture Management (Maastricht University, NL) and an ICF-Accredited Diploma in Transformative Coaching (Animas Centre for Coaching, UK).
